Why visit Poole?
Poole is known for its beautiful blue flag beaches, with the popular Sandbanks peninsula just 7 miles away. Poole Harbour is Europe’s largest natural harbour, idea for sailing and water sports. A short boat trip from the harbour takes you to Brownsea Island which is owned by The National Trust, famous for it’s red squirrels, wildlife and Scouting.
A ferry from Sandbanks takes you to Studland, the start of 96 miles of ‘The Jurassic Coast’. For the best fossil hunting head to Charmouth, Lyme Regis or Kimmeridge. From Studland you can drive to the seaside town of Swanage or step back in history with a visit to the ruins of Corfe Castle, also National Trust. For the more adventurous, The Dorset Adventure Park is in Corfe Castle, here you can get wet on inflatable obstacles set over 2 lakes or get dirty on the challenging mud trail assault course.
The park is dog friendly, although dogs are not allowed in the park’s facilities. All the beaches are dog friendly, with Ham Common also on the doorstep. Please note that the following breeds are not permitted on the park or in any of the caravans; Pit Bull Terrier, Dogo Argentino, Fila Brasileiro and Japanese Torsa.
There is a bus service from the park which takes you into town where you can take further buses to Sandbanks, Bournemouth, Weymouth and Dorchester. There is also a train station in Poole.
